Are you itching to get out and try something new, but aren’t sure where to look and what to do? We’re back for another special edition of Spontaneity! We provide a region-by-region breakdown of events and activities from across the Granite State that you won’t want to miss. In this extra- special edition, we’re feeling a little blue…berry! It’s blueberry season, which means it’s time for Blueberry Festivals, pie contests and more. Here’s where to find a berry fun blueberry event near you this weekend, and this summer!


Seacoast:

Blueberry Celebration
July 14, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Applecrest Farm

While Pick-Your-Own blueberries are the focal point, come beat ALL your summer-time blues with a fun-filled day of free live bluegrass music, tractor rides, lawn games, animal barnyard, cider donuts, lunch at the Orchard Grille, ice cream from our Creamery, just-picked fruit and veggies at our farm stand and a huge spread of just-baked blueberry pies and blueberry inspired confections from the Applecrest bakery (with loads of free sampling to boot).

Blues and Blueberry Weekend (Part 1-3) & the Annual New Englander Lobster Bake and Blueberry Fest

In planning the menu and wine selections, we feature a wine region or food region of the world, a specific vineyard, or a special topic.  Each month, we include a wine expert, or a winemaker, in addition to Chef Barnes who explains the food preparation and why he made his food choices in pairing the wines. As always, the menu will also be local farm-to-table driven. Our Chef tries to accommodate your needs. Menu modifications for dietary restrictions may be made upon confirmation of your reservation. Expect blueberry breakfast treats to kick off this weekend.

Blueberry Pancake Breakfast

What better way to kick off the season than with a big community breakfast! We will have tents and tables set up for breakfast in the field for us all to enjoy the fruits of the farm! We will have plain pancakes, blueberry pancakes, and waffles with real maple syrup and our own blueberry syrup and blueberry maple syrup!! We will also have some Log Cabin for those that don’t enjoy real maple. There will be hot and iced coffee and teas from the farm as well as other cold drinks! Plain Pancake Breakfast $3- Blueberry Pancake/Waffles $5

Hillsboro Summer Fest Blueberry Pie Eating Contest
July 14, 1:30 p.m.

Hosted at the Entertainment Tent $10 to sign up, first one to finish wis! Register the Admin Booth at Summerfest all weekend up until 1 p.m. Sunday or message them today to register online, until spots are full!

4th Annual Blueberry Fest

PYO blueberries and shop with local artisans and vendors. Featuring sweet treats from MarzBar bakery truck, handmade pottery, fresh local honey, jams and jellies, hand crafted furniture, face painting and more!

Strafford Town Democrats Blueberry Festival
July 27, 2-4 p.m.

520 Province Rd., Strafford
You’re invited to the Strafford Democrats’ Blueberry Festival! Enjoy live music by the folk duo Fortune’s Favor. Sample delicious blueberry treats and vote on your favorite. Take home a pie or basket of berries. Browse local crafts. And, of course, come meet our Democratic candidates! If you like to cook, join in the Blueberry Bake-off Contest to win great prizes! Tickets are $8 (free for kids under 5).
